We will be hosting a reception for the publication of the participants’ issue of the Good Neighbor Interpreter. The event will occur at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the McCall Neighborhood Center. We will be unveiling the paper and inviting people to take copies home. Thank you to the students who participated in the journalism camp last week. We hope to see you all at the unveiling!

The McCall Neighborhood Center is pleased to announce that we are publishing our fourth African American Historical Calendar for 2024, as a fund-raiser for the Center. We want to continue honoring our local Trailblazers, Organizations, & Churches who have led the way.

During a visit hosted by City Representative Alexsandra Annello, District 2 and Legislative Aide Matthew Ibarra, Oni Blair, Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Texas, was given a tour of the McCall Center by Ms. Barbara Byrd, the building manager, and Marcus McCoy, a member of the McCall Center Board of Directors. Also present was Monica Tucker, BBlack El Paso Voicefounder and supporter of the center. The aim of the visit was to gain a better understanding of the center’s history and its role within the community.
