Join us from March 11th to 15th, 10 am – 2 pm, at 3231 Wyoming Ave. for the Good Neighbor Interpreter Journalism Camp! Exclusively for high school students, this FREE camp, organized by the McCall Neighborhood Center, El Paso Museum of History, and Borderzine, returns by popular demand.
Led by June Straight, M. Ed., a seasoned journalism and yearbook educator from Parkland High School, students will explore the world of journalism while creating a special edition of The Good Neighbor Interpreter. From developing stories to photography and editing, participants will gain hands-on experience in newspaper production.
The camp culminates with distributing the printed paper at the McCall Neighborhood Center and El Paso Museum of History. This issue’s theme, “El Paso Rising,” coincides with the El Paso Museum of History’s “Still We Rise: El Paso’s Black Experience” exhibit, celebrating the next generation of leaders, artists, and activists in our community.
Don’t miss this incredible opportunity! Apply now at tinyurl.com/GNICamp2024. Sponsored by District 8 City Representative Chris Canales, this camp is a testament to our commitment to empowering youth and promoting community engagement.
